Kansas City - Part 1 (Friday)

Our weekend began way before sunrise on Friday. Jason and I both got up at 3:30 to get ready to go to the airport for our 6 am flight. Katelynn was a trooper! She laughed and talked all the way to the airport. That helped keep us awake.

We had great flights and thanks to Midwest Airlines, a layover of just 30 minutes and by 8:30, we were in Kansas City. We were waiting for Grammy and Big Papa to pick us up.

The real purpose of this trip was to meet our niece Allison and to spend some time with Jeff & Natalie. Our first stop was to their new house. We stayed at their house to make sure we got to spend as much time with them as possible. Allison is so precious. She was so tiny and it made us remember how small Katelynn was just 9 months ago! We are so glad that Katelynn and Allison will grow up together.

Since it was Halloween, we had some trick or treaters: Great Aunt Cathy with Cousin Jennifer and her kiddos: Grace as Cinderella, Isabelle as Snow White, Sophia as Sleeping Beauty, and Samuel was a dragon; and Cousins Brian and Brooke with Dillon who was Spiderman.

It was the girls 1st Halloween: Allison was a cow and Katelynn was a ladybug!
While we were there, Katelynn learned how to crawl up onto the mantle for the fireplace and how to stand up in the middle of the room - wow! She loved standing by their front door, too!

Big Papa and Gigi stopped over to visit the girls and trick or treat AND Katelynn got to see Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse, too! Later in the evening, Uncle James, Aunt Errin, and Jimmy stopped over to visit.
