♥...Kansas City...♥ Day 2

Saturday morning we had time to squeeze in half of Austin's soccer game before Allison's first birthday party. It was super cold, but we still managed to have a great time.

Then, it was off to celebrate our beautiful niece's 1st Birthday! As you can see, Katelynn was sound asleep when we got to the party...and she even slept in Allison's crib for about an hour, just like this!

Allison had a lot of fun opening her presents and seeing all of her new toys...look at everyone watching her!

Allison loved her ladybug cake!

Kisses from Gigi!

Eating a cupcake with Grammy!

These two little girls melt my heart! ♥

After the party, Jason and Mr. Shultz went to the races, while Grammy, Katelynn and I played at their house for awhile and then headed back to Jeff & Natalie's for some more fun and martini's! ♥

Katelynn played with Payton most of the night...they had a lot of fun together!

♥...Kansas City...♥

Last Friday morning at 4:45 AM, we left our house for our trip to Kansas City! Since we usually fly Midwest, we had a pretty short trip and landed just before 10:00, which isn't bad, since we left Appleton at 6:00!

Big Papa Charlie and Grammy picked us up at the airport. Katelynn is such a good traveler and loves to fly! We are very blessed!

As one would expect, we had lunch at Big Q, Jason's favorite BBQ on the way home from the airport. The purpose for our trip was to celebrate Allison's first birthday, our adorable and totally fabulous niece! ♥

Once we got settled at Grammy and Grandpa Shultz's house, I went over to help Natalie make cake and cupcakes for Allison's party...but not before I got to play with Little Miss Sophia!

Katelynn had a ball playing with Sophia. Oh, the fun we have while we are in town! While Jason played with the girls at Grammy's, I helped Natalie make some yummy cupcakes, cake and food for Allison's birthday party. And, without the baby hog (Jason) there to steal my sweet niece...I had her all to myself! ♥

Before long, Jeff was home from work and then Grammy, Grandpa, Jason and Katelynn arrived with dinner. The girls took an impromptu bath together and then we headed back to Grammy's and off to bed! ♥

21 Months

Just three months away from her 2nd birthday! I can't begin to imagine. Katelynn is such an active little girl. She talks non-stop, runs around the house, and pretty much never stops moving. She is a wild child and we love her more and more every day! ♥

Katelynn had her language assessment this month and in addition to talking in full sentences and saying about 100 or so different words, she understands and speaks at the level of a 24.5 month old child. So, she is ahead of the game and improving more each day.

Katelynn tells you when she needs to go to the bathroom and is pretty successful and even keeps her diaper dry for time to time. Katelynn loves to "honk" your nose, make sounds like an animal, loves to feed herself and drink from a straw instead of sippy cup. She is an excellent traveler and remembers where she has been.

Katelynn loves the Packers and can be found chanting "Go Pack Go" every Sunday. Katelynn loves spending every waking moment with Mimi, in fact, she would be lost without her! ♥

This month, Katelynn had her first big adventure with Gran and Grandpa - that included a trip to Oshkosh and dinner in the car at Leon's! Anyone who has been there knows that is true love, letting your granddaughter eat in your new car! ♥
