Walking...Everywhere!

It didn't take long for Katelynn to get the hang of walking! Her first steps on Christmas Day quickly led to a few steps here and there. Grammy was thrilled to watch Katelynn learn to walk more and more everyday. At her first birthday, she was taking about 10 steps.

The next weekend, we went to Wisconsin Dells to the Kalahari Resort and she was walking everywhere. Jason's ASA Midwest Tour awards banquet was on Saturday evening, so Katelynn and I, along with Uncle Jay and Aunt Jamie, came along to enjoy the lazy river and relax. Anyone who knows about racing banquets knows that "relaxing" is not usually a word used to describe them!

We left Saturday morning to drive to the Dells and stopped in Ripon at the cookie factory. I was pleased that Katelynn and I could enjoy some of their delicious samples (only three kinds of their cookies don't have dairy). We left with pounds of fudge covered vanilla wafers - 3 lbs for Jay and Jamie and 3 lbs for Jason. (barf!) And some sugar cookies for Katelynn and me.

We arrived at our 20 person condo about noon, just in time to have some lunch before heading to the waterpark. We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the waters of the lazy river. Katelynn loved it! She squealed in delight and waved hello to most people who passed us! She didn't really like the toddler play area - a combination of too many kids running around and water squirting you from everywhere! Even Aunt Jamie and I didn't appreciate getting squirted with water.

That evening, Jason and I attended the banquet, that just like their races, didn't go as scheduled. It was after 11pm when we arrived back at the condo - ready to party all night long.

Nope, never mind, we wanted to go to sleep (Katelynn, Uncle Jay and Aunt Jamie were already sleeping), but the "others" did want to party and it lasted until 5:30 am. ♥ Sunday morning, Jason made his signature French Toast for our condo friends: JB, Erika, Chase, Leah; Lumpy and The Iverson Racing Team. We had a beautiful condo and we did have a fun time. Then, we headed back to the waterpark for more fun! Next time, I'll know to bring a different camera, since I was afraid ours would be stolen or it would drown in the lazy river!
