Katelynn is 16 months old today. This last month seemed to go by very quickly! For those of you who have seen her in person, you have noticed that her hair is coming in and getting thicker everyday. It's still very light which makes it hard to see in pictures.
Katelynn loves to talk. She will talk to everyone and anyone she meets. She would be the perfect greeter at any restaurant. She has lots of practice. She says hi to everyone who walks by. Even the grouchiest people usually stop and talk to her. I can hardly believe it! Katelynn is becoming more and more independent. Jason and I had the best vacation with her this past week and got to really notice just how much she changes on a daily basis.
If she can feed herself, she is much happier than if you are feeding her. She is very aware of what is going on around her. If you are dipping something, she wants to dip, too! If you are drinking with a straw, she'd really like to drink with one too! If you are sweet enough to fall for her smile, you'll never break away!
Katelynn loves to walk. She will take you by the hand and lead you on the walk. We really got to enjoy this as we walked around the lake at our condo. She would stay on the path and never try to dive into the lake. That was very nice. By the way, she loves ducks. Especially feeding them!
Katelynn loves to be outside, that hasn't changed any. She is getting a little bit better about coming inside after playing. Before she would completely throw a fit and have a meltdown. That's not as bad as it was a few weeks ago.
She loves to get your shoes and bring them to you to let you know she wants to go outside. She will also grab her jacket, if necessary. She will rock back and forth in her stroller to let you know to get moving, too!
She is really good at repeating what you say, too. She can put together a string of three to four words without any problem. I fear she will never stop talking.
This afternoon, I tried to get her to take a nap. She cried for about 30 seconds and then spent the next 45 minutes sitting in her crib, babbling and talking the whole time. So much for that nap!
I was especially happy to find out this past month that she does remember people. Katelynn had a special week with Grammy and I was so pleased that she remembered her. It had only been 3 months, but in the past it had taken her a while to warm up. That wasn't the case this time! ♥
Katelynn loves babies and other children. She is fascinated by them. I love watching her interact with our friends children. It is such a delight. And, she always has a smile on her face when we look at cousin Allison's blog!
